We run a shank the spring and so do our neighbors. They apply nh3 and deep band dry fert 9 inches deep all at the same time when strip tilling. No problems whatsoever. We don't use nh3.
Have you ever ran a side by side comparison for seed placement, population, emergence, and yeild?
