I always thought the main thing was if your running a knife/shank unit or a coulter unit... If you run a shank in the spring I think you'll have problems.

We run a shank the spring and so do our neighbors. They apply nh3 and deep band dry fert 9 inches deep all at the same time when strip tilling. No problems whatsoever. We don't use nh3.
