central michigan
My cousin has one, It was installed about 25 years ago. The field needs to be flat. They installed tile in between the old tile so that they are on 16ft centers. There field is approx 50 acres and they pump water out of a small ditch with two 1 1/2 hp submerisal pumps. As soon as the field is planted he starts the pumps and if its dry they basicly run most of the summer. He says they are cheap to run. Like he says they are basicly filling a small lake and just raising the water level to the crop, corn seems to work best.
