west central illinois | I think as others have said, prison would have not done any good for him. Both families agreed to this punishment and that's good enough for me. I couldn't imagine the mental anguish this kid will feel the rest of his life, it makes me reflect on when I was a teenager and how we did the eact same thing ( running the back roads and drinking) so I'm not going to throw stones at anyone because it is a miracle it didn't happen to one of us. Nobody forced us to ride with someone impaired, we did it all the time so I have a very hard time casting blame on any one person in a situation like this. I know the error of my ways now but 17 years ago we were all thinking differently. | |
