| Don't send it in. If it is not "turning on" or being accessed by any computer, it is likely the enclosure itself that is bad. I recently had the same problem with mine....the interface in the enclosure went bad. I bought a new enclosure from Radio Shack because it was cheaper than Best Buy, removed the hard drive from the old enclosure, installed in the new, and it's back working again.
Take the enclosure apart and see what kind of interface is has to the internal hard drive. It will likely be SATA. Get a new enclosure that handles SATA and you should be good to go.
Oh, and since it failed on several machines, I am fairly positive it's the enclosure.
