Kinda figured the Maines fit with the Shorthorns.

There's more red and tan cattle on the globe than any other colors. Most those have black skin underneath that red or tan haircoat.

Reason there's more red and tans is simply because Most of the globe's cattle population is either in the southern part of the Northern Hemisphere or in the Southern Hemisphere.

Lot's of Red Brahma and Brahma type cattle in the World.

Do know there were certainly some impressive Red Brahma milk cows at recent Expo Zebu in Brasil ( World's largest cattle show ).

There's a pretty good sized Red Poll cattle pop in IL and that's where the post originated.
