Here on dryland the only thing I can get to grow after alfalfa is wheat. Everything else burns up because can't get enough rain. On irrigated always go to corn and don't put any N on and grow awesome corn. The 2nd yr I only add 100 lbs of N and grow tremendous corn. Lots of N left in alfalfa ground if had at least 50% stand yet.
What to plant in former alfalfa ground?
