Have some ground that was alfalfa for many years. Sprayed it out, then broke it up with a chisel plow and disk last fall. What would you plant this spring? Choices are mainly spring wheat or soybeans, so which of those 2 would you prefer?

Or there is a possibility to plant sunflowers or corn? I'm thinking sunflowers, but might not put any of them in the ground this year due to a poor local demand/market.

What are the nitrate test show? Depending on N left over I would plant whatever pencils out the best for you.
