not sure but my brillion with coated seed is about 18 pounds all the way open. which is plenty enough seed. 25-30 pounds sounds like a big waste of seed to me. I have been told 18 is too much seed. also you need to use the small box for alfalfa. it will just run out of the large box sitting still.


+1, I would not go over 15#/acre of uncoated seed, I try not to plant coated, got 1 bag this year accidently, but needed it to plant that field so mixed with what I had that was leftover from last ear without the coating.

If you have qualms about cutting back on your seeding rate, just do a couple of rounds and see how much difference you can see over time. have never noticed a difference where it gets double seeded on the corners or the middle of the field.
