West of Lincoln a little bit | Find a used washer that's decent to buy time. In a year or two get the speed queen. No question it's better by a country mile. Wife loves ours. I don't mind the timed payments idea. eighteen months no interest perhaps?
Second choice is to go with the $400 one to make her happy, but she will eventually hate that thing. It won't last 10 years, 5 will be lucky with the crap they're making these days. Buying appliances just ticks me off now. Nothing lasts, they push extended warranties down your throat and don't service anything without a huge headache, tons of lost time and surprise expenses. Speed queen makes sense with mechanical knobs. If something goes wrong after 20 years I could fix it myself. |
