But it's just me and the wife now so she probably doesn't do more than two loads a week, and sometimes not more than one. Edit to add: I've learned that the more "bells and whistles" you have on an appliance the more likely it is to break down. I think my wife's washer has 3 knobs - no fancy electronic touch pads. Same with the dryer. The Roper brand (and a few others) come off the same assembly line as the Whirlpool and Kenmore brands. Just less fancy stuff and different badge for a lot less money.
