Red River Valley | Do you have bin space ?
If so look into HTA ( hedge to Arrive ) contracts this will allow you to set the board price and leave the basis open also if you have bin space allows you to roll the contract forward and capture carry in the market.
without bin space this is a little tougher but you can still HTA and if prices fall between when you HTA it and harvest you might be able to work a little better basis out of the elevator.
lastly you can open a hedge account with a broker or online and hedge your grain yourself and then try to play basis offers against a couple of buyers.
just a few sure others will offer more
