Subject: RE: Spreading your own Dry fertilizer?

North central IA
We bought a floater a few years back and it paid for it self in 3 years. It's a dual bin we can vrt everything and on 3k acres at 7 bucks for vrt app. It paid for itself in 3 years just on application charge not to mention saving a few bucks on fert. Plus doing it myself I know it's done the way I want.
I usally do it in the fall before ripping. It's not too bad to get it done. I can do a quarter in couple hours and then there's something to do tillage on for a day or two and if it rains a bit or something we go do 500 acres then were cought up for awhile and we can do tillage for a few days.
For the price savings I think it's a no brainer.
Good luck
