I drive a small Jap hatchback that you know as a Fit and on a 400 mile round trip on Wednesday it did north of 40mpg, sort of 48 on the way there and 41 on the return trip. The traffic was very heavy on the way up, all start stop so economy suffered and on the way home the road were quite so it was 90-110 mph all the way back and economy suffered further. I'm going to see if it will do 60mpg on a tank full around town in the summer. It will be quite boring.
