SD | I was just wondering if anybody out there does a share crop method? I farm some land for a relative and she gets 1/3 of the crop after paying for 1/3 of the fertilizer and 1/3 of the chemical(about $35/acre). This year with the low prices I'm wondering if it would be too much to ask her to pay for 1/3 of the seed costs? It would add roughly $20/ acre for her, but I know she gets extra deductions from the IRS for "being engaged or at risk in farming".
