| By our independent analyses, the cost of crop insurance is a bad investment, the odds of return are so poor its better to stash the money in the bank without interest and keep an adequate bankroll to survive crop failures. We are enrolled in the PLC program in the current farm program, but that program is designed to make farmers think it will pay, while it makes congress and the WTO think it won't pay, and so far it hasn't paid.
