Subject: Flooded basement - how to move water

SW North Dakota
We're in the process of building a new house and have the basement dug, walls poured, and are ready to pour the basement floor. Since Monday we have had nearly 5.5" of rain and it's now looking like a swimming pool. The soil at the bottom of the hole is heavy clay, so it's not soaking at all. What would be the best method of pumping water out of here? Tried a transfer pump tonight but had to keep repriming the pump every time I moved the house. Would a sump be a better option, or will the sand kill the pump? I could also use our 2" sprayer pump, but thinking I would need something on the end to avoid sucking dirt and rocks in.

Thoughts?
