Subject: Cafeteria style mineral feeding, is my high mag mineral necessary?

South Central Iowa
Was thinking there were a couple guys on this forum that used the cafeteria style mineral feeders. My question is, when the rich spring flush of grass is on, and grazing the washy new growth, do you see cow's consumption of magnesium increase? Is high mag mineral a farce to make commercial mineral companies money, or do they actually consume it at a higher rate? I've tried several brands of commercial high mag, and even mixed it in with additional salt to try to boost intake, but they just don't seem to want it. Put out a bag of regular mineral and the consumption per day is very close to recommended levels.
