When I was doing plots I did some
Population trials and went as low as 77k. They yielded close to the same. Just weed control is harder.
Had a field at 105 last year as I was trying to adjust pop via the inaccurate acre counter not actual planted acres... they yielded just as good as the 140k beans.
A drill 140k on 15” rows is not the same as 140k via a planter.
When I was drilling in 7.5’s i was more comfortable at 180k
