When you say silage, what type and how much are you talking? Soil type matters also. We have sandy soils, so haylage and haylage wear it out faster. Our 7380 has around 1000 cutter head hours on it, and we spend around 10-15k every winter in the deere shop. Last year we put up around 8-9000 tons of haylage and/or oatlage, and the same amount of corn silage, so well under $1 a ton. The biggest issue we have is liner wear due to the sand intake, same as with tillage.
