Eastern Shore of MD
Common practice here to spray at flowering here with a plane or ground rig.
I have too much on my plate to spray with ground rig right now as am committed elsewhere so plane is scheduled for Monday to Wednesday time frame.

Not cheap - running Miravis Ace and insecticide - with plane cost it totals $25/ac or so but elevators test for fusarium so this pass has become part of the normal small grain program here. I will admit it is easier to do with a with a $6 wheat contract though.

We have high humidity here though so disease pressure is persistent.

From irrigation - disease pressure would be higher with continual wetness from rain/ drizzle/ dew. We have that here but guessing that is not much of an issue for you but then I do not farm on the high plains. It is funny - we can not really make irrigation on small grain here payoff.

Good Luck.
