North Central Illinois | Sunflowers planted mid July here on PP ground in 2019 matured before our killing freeze. Mid August plantings have at least a 50% chance of opening blooms before we freeze.
This was September 11 and the flowers were planted July 12. Mix with buckwheat in it was seeded the end of the first week of August.
