Graduated in 1977. A hunter safety course was offered. I think it was either my sophomore or junior year (old man memory problems). Went to the National Guard armory and had a target shooting contest at the close of the course. I also took my brand spanking new Daisy BB gun that I got for Christmas to show and tell when I was in the first grade. The only problem was that Dad wouldn't let me take any BBs and the teacher kept it during recess. :-)

Like I said in another thread, the only student involved altercation involving a gun that I knew of happened off campus after school hours. One guy did get shot but it was with a shotgun (reportedly # 6 shot) through a car door. It was enough to get him a few days in the hospital but he was ok.
