Subject: RE: Planter vs Air Seeder

NC Kansas
If you plant small grains or cover drops as well, the air seeder is the way to go. That's what we do, will plant beans too if the calendar is pushing on us...but really don't like to. Don't like harvesting rowed beans in our rolling odd shaped fields.
I like the JD 1890 and set up properly it does an excellent job getting a stand of beans. I've often thought the cats meow would be to buy a worn out 1990 CCS set up of 15" rows and just rebuild it with the best aftermarket stuff from exapta/needham.
But I can't really justify and air seeder/planter/ and 15" drill specifically for beans.
