Subject: Abandon a forty some year old marketing plan ?

My marketing plan has always consisted of binning the grain, start selling in January and finish by May-June. I’ve pretty well stuck to it over the years. This year I finished the corn a little early in April but have the last of the beans to move.

I usually do the price later thing and have held some into the summer but not often. (Can we stop calling it price lower now ?)

Tempted to start selling some new crop grain for fall delivery. Did that maybe once or twice before, never was a good thing.

How about some of you folks who follow similar plans ? Thinking this might be the year to jump ?

Only hail insurance for me, no federal crop. It is dry here in NW Iowa. Corn will be up in a few days, yet to start planting beans.
