Let us know when US grain exports become subject to a export tax which is subject changes seemingly monthly, US grain becomes a major income source for the government and last and most important grain is traded in any other currency. Argentina grain price inflation is a whole different ballgame than the US based solely on exchange rates.
Yes, Argentine grain prices are significantly affected by terrible government tax and fiscal policy and currency instability. Any part of that sound familiar for the US looking forward?
And yes, rest assured I will try to remember to dredge up this thread and say “I told you so” when something like major grain trading in a different currency takes place.
