Adjusted for inflation from 1973 beans would have to be $72 and corn $24 to match those old highs. I know a guy that drove a grain truck full of beans into town in 1973 and walked over to the ford dealership and bought a brand new truck with the cash. I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for inflation adjusted prices in grains.


We were talking about 2008 prices, but since we’re now on the 1970’s subject, you know who didn’t get a new pickup for a truckload of beans in 1973? The guy that sold out way before it hit that price because he was so sure it would never get that high.
