Subject: Deere 1770 - Selecting the right one

Illinois
In my search for a used 16 row planter that flexes well enough to handle terraces and rough ground, I think I have settled on a 1770 for next year and will be purchasing one this summer. From early to late ones, what do I need to know. For flex purposes, do I want the NT frame, or are the frame designs all the same?

Do they all have the 2 point hitch hookup, and how does this work? Does this remain in a fixed position?

What about vac versus finger pickup? I am used to finger pickup planters and will be planting with a Magnum 7140. Do I have the capacity for a vac, and is the vac worth it for extra speed, maintenance, etc.? There aren't many finger pickup units around, it seems.

I will spend from $35-50K, so probably a late 90's to mid 2000's model year is what I will get.

Thanks for any responses.
