The ID of DOM can be + .010, so what you have is representative. If you tried a different piece, it may be tight, or not. Interference fit is about .002. Then, one piece in the oven and one in the freezer, you could get a bit more than that.
Railroad duty Loctite is supposed to hold .015.
I have been using a new polyurethane construction adhesive that I am really impressed with. It hasn't failed on anything I have tried. Yet?
