Subject: Question for you machinist type

just a tish NE of central ND
If Im going to insert a new bushing that measures 1.502 of an inch OD (with my cheapy dial calipers)into a hole of another object , What size does the I D measurement of the inside hole need to be to make a ideal nice tight press fit that can be easily pressed in to place and will remain snug untill I need to replace the bushing when it is worn? Can D.O.M. tube be gotten to fit 1.502 bushing? The new bushing is a factory made part for a concord air seeder tandam. My project consists of updateing the bushings to the currently used style/size of concord bushings. To do this I need to fill in the larger 2 inch hole and insert the new modern 1.502 bushing into the hole in the tandam.
The D.O.M "bushing stock" tubeing I have from the rack fits loose and measures at 1.512 ID so the new factory sleeve falls right out. Yet, Im thinking that if it were 1.500" the 1.502 bushing would not fit into the D.O.M. at all.
Any suggestions short of boreing each sleave out of smaller D.O.M. stock??
T.I.A.!
