The Argo Hotel there in Crofton is pretty neat historically. Not sure what the current situation is with the dining room or bar. When Sandra and Jerry ran it, it had a basement Speakeasy lounge and a full dining room. Ownership has changed a few times since. Wiebelhaus Recreation also in Crofton was always decent to get a burger. Boondocks in Fordyce used to serve a decent steak. Go up to Yankton and both the Black Steer and JoDean's had good food. I used to like to stop and have a beer at the dock there at the Ice House. Watch the sun go down over the river. Cabela's in Mitchell, South Dakota if that's your thing. As others have said, 12 west toward Valentine or down toward Verdigre, anything there around Devil's Nest is pretty imo. | |
