| I don't think it matters what you paid for the first farm or what you are going to pay for the second farm. If you can switch farms without it costing you a lot of money and you can do a 10-31 exchange I would sure do it. If you are hauling all the crop home to bins it costs money to haul it an extra 9 miles and takes a lot of time. If the crop goes to an elevator close to the second piece of ground that might be difference. There are a lot of things to consider but I would sure jump on the chance to work close to home. You will always be upset if someone else is farming the field close to your home and you had a chance to farm it. | |
