I never replaced one on a JD, but yes you remove the center bolt and some have threat on the inside of the pulley and you screw in a special puller and get it off like that. or you remove the plate and screw the bolt back in as not to damage the treats and pit a regular puller on it. or unless the six holes treated and you can put three  bolts in and pull it that way
