It that is what it cost (900) around here, everyone is losing money just about. $850 for 600 lb steer at auction maybe 900-925 video.





Every cow calf guy with cows in a pasture is losing money just like every crop farmer is losing money by raising corn/beans in a field they own.


If you bill yourself "opportunity cost" = to what you could rent your ground out for to the highest bidder you'll seldom make any money by doing the work.


Yet at the end of the year everyone moans how much taxes they owe on the money they supposedly didn't make.
