Oh, gosh, it sounds like the classic Win vs. Mac debate brewing, and I guess I started it. Here's my history... We've only owned one Mac in 27 years of owning computers. It was the first version Power PC (I think that was it). We actually bought it to run a photo data base that wasn't available at the time for Windows.
We never could get it to consistently connect to the internet. Two young men who worked for the ISP here, and who were immersed in Macs, spent a couple of hours each trying to figure out what was wrong. They never could. The dealer was no help. He sold boxes.
I'm sure the OS is much improved now, but I have neighbors on either side of me who have Macs and seem to occasionally fall down rabbit holes. I get calls because there's this (faulty) perception that I "know something about computers." My pat answer has been, "I'm sorry, but I really don't know anything about Macs, but I'm surprised you'd have that kind of problem, considering what you paid for that thing."
