London, Ontario, Canada | Had same issue using Canadian Satellite provider Shaw. Run audio through stereo receiver and thought it was the problem. Bought new stereo receiver and same audio cut out occurred. Did the TV reboot thing and still random issue.
Finally called Shaw Direct and they checked everything on their end. Girl said that it was my HDMI cable that they provided with the satellite receiver.
Put new cable in and no problem. That was 2 years ago.
For past month same kind of issue started again but only on 1 network the CTV. Any channel that was CTV has issue. Finally called Shaw and they said after 15 minutes it was their issue and were working on it. Noticed last night it was better but still some issues.
