I have heard that because it is worth more out our way, more feed gets shipped here, so supply actually becomes limited in the Prairie Provinces, thus the price goes up. I do know of one guy in southern Ab that has at least his mixed feeds trucked from the Fraser Valley, in tote bags on a flat deck, because he saves so much money vs having it done at his local mill. That same truck hauls hay back usually. Kind of bizarre, yes. But, that's the way the world works, and no one can explain it!
