I scraped a little with a putty knife to knock off the high spots. The side posts just snap into place. I didn't see any need to clean everything using the Pro form kits and silicone. Looked good and fit well. If possible, have someone outside put the silicone on and hand the piece to you so you're not having to handle the caulk gun inside the cab and getting it all over things.
