Subject: remodeling old barn question

near dyersville iowa
Im going to at least price remodeling an old dairy barn. removing part of the hay mow, moving the ceiling up to 18 or maybe 20 feet. the concrete on the floor of the barn was poured as feed trough, leaving it high in the middle. not sure how thick it is. would it be ok just to hammer out the middle, fill the rest back up to level, probably 18 inches, and then put concrete back in? or will that just lead to more cracked concrete in short order? i cant get a skidloader in the basement as is. have to move a bunch of posts and beam to make this work. so if i move the posts, id have to probably reset them when i can get something in to hammer out the concrete. just taking out the middle would be a huge labor saver.
