Subject: RE: remodeling old barn question

coast of Maine
Pouring over old jackhammered concrete has always worked here.Rent a big compressor and hammer, youd be surprised at how easy(arms will hurt but) it is.Sub beneath has been there forever and is compact or settled.Sure they say build new,,,I save the old ones use and still build more.Did what you are doing but took out side bays and left center as our forklift access was basement based and third story dry storage center accessed,18 ft ceilings ,stack with forklifts.Externally same barn ,inside warehouse.Easy cheap, way cheaper now,our main floor side bay had concrete 2 inch over wood, gramps cows. Some hopeful engineering there,,worked for 50 years .Crashed good when we cut beams off.
