Tilting the tailored closer to bin floor will help but you still will need to run the sweep around the floor 2-3 times to get what flows over the top. Our normal procedure for clean out is to run sweep around 2x, stop sweep & pull corn away from walls about 3-4' in. Run sweep again, stop & push corn in , run sweep!, stop, and finish pushing corn to center well & sweep floor with a broom. We prefer using snow shovels to push grain rather than a scoop shovel. Larger the bin the more times you have to push corn towards the center. Sounds like a lot of work but is actually faster than scooping behind the sweep.the first go around.
I'm not trying to argue but how is this faster than shoveling/sweeping up behind the sweep as it goes around the first time? We have 36-48' bins, some power sweeps and some electric and we always just shovel and sweep right behind it? |
