I think the grain goes over the top of angle backbone of the sweep. Mine left about 2 inches on the floor so I made a taller backboard that I could slip on half of the auger next to the motor when it made a second pass around bin. It was a piece of 1 x 6 pine board with straps to go over the auger backboard and it seemed to work well.
