Keep it simple. I have a hard time doing much with calls and puts or working the basis. Their all another layer of marketing which adds to the complexity.
I’m not suggesting you sell at harvest every year but I have had a landlord that has me sell her grain when the last load goes in. You would be surprised how often she did as well and occasionally better than I did. Been doing that for 35 years for her.
So, you never know. I do know if you get on the wrong side of the market it can be costly so be careful. |
