I have a Massey Ferguson 8470 with air ride cab suspension and air ride front axle. The entire system has no air. With the large fuse in place you can hear the compressor running under the cab but no air seems to get generated (or it is leaking out as fast as it is coming in?). The air seat in the cab even will not work. When the tractor was being used last I sensed the air suspension was failing as the ride got really rough. I ended up pulling the fuse in an effort to save the compressor, hopefully it worked!

I have had the tractor shut off and filled the air tank using the valve behind the cab. I can air the system up and do not hear any leaks but over a day the system will leak off. It seems to be a supply issue for the entire tractor, not just an isolated cab suspension air issue, either caused by compressor failure or a large leak?? My questions are:
1: where is compressor/regulators/air tank located?
2: how to diagnose compressor failure easiest?
3: potential for a regulator/filter causing issues?

The black things bolted to the cab on each side at the rear are your air tanks. The compressor is under the cab about dead center, Much easier to access once you lift the cab and I had the inside tires off for something else which made it really easy. I replaced a few of those small hydraulic lines under there when doing mine as they were actually pretty cheap from agco and figured never a better time, but our 635b had around 6000 hours on it too.

I believe you should be able to take a air line off at the air bags and then turn compressor on to see if you are getting air. Or better yet install a gauge in this line before running it.
Your seat problem has nothing to do with the cab suspension. completely different systems

I am betting on the compressor, but just a guess. When you go to fix it get ahold of your dealer as there was a update to seal up those tanks, and reroute the air intake into the cab for the compressor, and maybe a couple other things. Not a bad job once you lift up the back of the cab a bit (not too much so youdon't break the windshield on the hood) Compressor is not cheap tho.

good luck
