WY, OK | I run a $90 Genius DVR-FHD590, actually 4 of them because I am too lazy to swap one back and forth between everything and they are cheap enough. Never had an actual camera fail. In extreme heat I have had them turn off, but only a few times. I do have the memory cards fail after a few years. They work with Quicktime/Apple but it works fine on my PC. Never needed it for anything official but have half a dozen saved vid's of crazy stuff. Plug the camera into PC, download the proper file an done. It takes 2 or 3 minute clips after certain time it starts to write over the old stuff.
Mine just plugs into the cig lighter, does have a battery but they aren't the best. It does power down with no motion after a while if I forget to unplug it. If I wanted a rear facing I'd just add another one to the back window. | |
