the woodlot in the pictures is not the best around here.
Apparently it was cut down to almost nothing in the 1930ies from what I have been told so has a lot of poorer type trees and the ash and Hickory that was getting to a decent size have both been killed off with Beatles and disease in hickory.
There are a few nice maple starting to show up and I think some of then are really growing fast now with the competition removed.
With the snow on the ground I drag them out to woodlot at home and cut up there.
Keep salvaging a few logs from some of the bigger ash but already have a fair bit of lumber sawn out from ash so am finding more value in firewood than I used to. | |
