Subject: Exports

Exports were as the trade expected yesterday ( which is way over last year's pace) as a guy who believes price is a function supply and demand it looks to me the market has not done a whole lot to ration our supply . To be fair we did have a small cancellation but comparing it to what we have sold year over year it was small. It does seem the usda is slow to recognize the tightening up of stocks on the corn side. A lot of people mentioned that they could have lowered carryover by 300 but most said they would not be that agressive and would probably put out a 100 to 150 number instead we got 50. Seems to me if they can hold back on printing the real number for 30-60 days they can slow the market down until it starts to focus on planting intentions. This usually works until a year like 2012 comes along. At any rate just curious what others are thinking about exports.
