Yes you can steer with a Trimble external receiver 162 (WAAS only)/252/262/372/442/542. The big requirement is TSIP.
Also, when steering with an external receiver, the cable to the NAV PN 75741 connects to port A, not port C. The other end goes to an adapter PN 76442 and plugs into P4 Monitor connector of the NAV. This is different from the internal receiver which doesn't use the 76442 and plugs into port C of the FMX and P3 GPS connector | |
