Southwestern Minnesota | In our situation, that small space would not have much impact on saving energy for the rest of the house. We have in-floor heat in the basement that heats on the off-peak. That keeps the rest of the house at a nice even temperature. The small space of the entryway that is just on the slab would have little impact on our house temperature. The entryway temperature actually stays pretty consistent due to the heating in the rest of the house. I don't think it would make much impact if the entryway was heated. We've lived here 30 years.
