Subject: RE: cover crop planter/drill- Seed Rite Plates

SE Minnesota
Has anyone ever tried seeding a mix with these plates like a rye, radish, clover mix, I'm guessing you would want to use the smaller plate for the smaller seed doesn't get stuck in the bigger plate, I have been looking at these and wanting to try some. I would be seeding with just a 12 row 30" planter, my thoughts were either buy both sets and plant the radish/clover in 30" rows then come back and plant the rye between essentially ending up with 15" rows, then plan on planting corn over the top of the radish/clover row or buy 6 of each and plant every other row radish/clover and rye and plant my corn between the rows. If i can plant a mix of all three with one set then i could try some on 30" rows and try some doubling back making 15" rows and save a lot of money buying disks. I don't own a drill or a 15" row planter so i figure buying some of these disks is cheaper than renting a drill to try it on some acres.
